Welcome to The RUSSC!The RUSSC is a premier source of entertainment in the South East - operating within a safe, friendly environment. We host live entertainment every Saturday in our well-appointed function suite, which comfortably seats 250 on split levels - whilst also benefiting from a large sprung dance floor. Members and non-members are welcomed to live entertainment events on paying the relevant ticket price on the door. Details of forthcoming artistes can be found on our Entertainment page, accessible here, or from the What's On? drop-down menu above. Almost all of Saturday nights' entertainment is booked through to the end of August 2012! We are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to purchase tickets for some of a selection of forthcoming events at the RUSSC (details on the clickable/printable posters below) from the comfort of your computer! 
Simply make your selection(s) below and you will be able to pay securely online for your tickets via PayPal (either through your PayPal account or with a credit/debit card). There is a small administration charge of 50p per ticket ordered online. Once you have made your selection you will be able to choose how many tickets you would like after clicking the "Add to Cart" button. We will then send you an email confimation which you should print and bring with you to the RUSSC when attending the event. Tickets currently available for sale online (please make your selection(s) from the dropdown menu, where applicable): Please take the time to read this very important letter from our Social Secretary, John Loeber: Dear MembersFirstly, let me say this is the saddest letter I have had to write to members since becoming Social Secretary back in 2008. As from Friday 30th March 2012, we will no longer be putting on live entertainment (on Fridays) in the Function Hall! We did warn 15 months ago, in February 2011, that we would give Fridays a revamp and endeavour to attract more members/non members to the Club on Friday evenings. I sourced a new agent who over the past 15 months has supplied us with some fantastic solo artists and great duos; Danny Litchfield, Alton Edwards, Jade Tibbs (now touring with JLS), After Dark, Ebony Silk and quite a few more. However, since the end of November last year, the numbers have dropped off to the point where we are lucky to have 20/30 people attending. The take over the bar is averaging £300 a week and these quality acts are costing up to £250 each. Therefore you don’t need me to do the sums for you to work out that it is just crazy to continue. I would like to offer a special thank you to those few that have supported Friday nights week in and week out over the last 15 months and hope you will still continue to visit and drink in the Club. Rather than just leave the hall empty on a Friday making no money we are doing two things to hopefully increase our turnover. Firstly, we are putting on a series of shows - probably one a month - in the hope we sell out and have 275 people drinking in the main bar. I can now announce the shows that I have booked to date:
Secondly, we are looking to utilise the Hall to its maximum, by letting outside people hire it for parties (25 year-olds and upwards) or organisations to put on shows. We are currently in discussions with a number of parties who would like to use the Hall on various Friday nights, with 200 people plus drinking. We are hoping that these two measures may at some time in the future help to subsidise lighting and sound improvements, ticket concessions for members, improved acts on Saturday evenings and eventually the removal of the members' charge on a Saturday night. This year was a great financial result and I hope that these measures will secure a better result next year. Looking forward to serving the club during 2012 and hopefully for many more years to come. Best Regards We are pleased to announce that Beau Belles Over 40s Friendship Club have commenced Thursday meetings at the RUSSC, with effect from Thursday 8 March, 2012. Meetings are in the Members' bar, from 8:30 pm until closing. For single, divorced, separated, widowed and people new to the area; this is a great way to meet more friends, and have a fantastic social life. There is a packed events list, weekends away and regular party nights. Beau Belles Friendship Club welcomes new members who can register Thursday nights. You can link up with Beau Belles via Facebook by clicking here. Additionally, we have introduced weekly registration for Speed Dating Events with registration for age groups 30-45 years, 40-55 years and 50-65 years taking place in the Members' bar on Sundays at 7:30 pm, commencing 11 March, 2012. Once we have an equal number of men and women registered; we will arrange matchmaking dates for chatting and seeing if you are attracted to each other. Come and take part in a fun matchmaking night. If you're a member of the Club and are looking to celebrate a special occasion - rather than go to the expense of hiring external premises and the cost of laying on entertainment - why not bring your party to the RUSSC? We can accommodate a group of up to 100 of a member's guests on a Saturday evening with each guest paying just £3.00 entrance fee. We have a large car park at the rear of the premises. There is also an external smoking terrace, complemented by a patio heater in the winter, conveniently situated between the two bars.  For a very reasonable annual fee, members enjoy a subsidised bar - with guest cask ales; four full-sized snooker tables; darts; cribbage; television lounge (with Sky Sports); food from our in-house catering team, together with reduced admittance costs to weekend entertainment. We have a very active darts team who are presently looking for new members to join.
